I write from the intersection of music, humanity, education, and imagination. My work is shaped by a lifelong love of the arts, a deep commitment to inclusion, and a belief that creativity can help us better understand ourselves and one another.
As an author, I am interested in the ideas that sit beneath the surface of everyday life: belonging, access, dignity, identity, systems, beauty, and what it means to be fully human. Some of my writing grows out of my work in music education and disability inclusion, while other projects take a more creative or philosophical path. Across everything I write, I aim to create work that is thoughtful, honest, and deeply human.
I am a music educator, performer, and writer whose professional life has centered on building meaningful, inclusive artistic experiences for others. I have spent years teaching music, developing programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and exploring how music can strengthen communication, community, and human connection.
My background as a musician and educator has profoundly shaped my voice as an author. I am drawn to writing that asks big questions, challenges narrow ideas of ability and success, and makes space for people to feel seen. Whether I am writing nonfiction about access and music, reflective essays, or imaginative fiction, I want my work to connect deeply with readers and leave them with something to carry forward.
I am also a husband, father, veteran, and lifelong creative. Those parts of my life matter to my writing too. They keep me grounded in the real textures of love, responsibility, struggle, hope, and everyday meaning.
My writing explores themes such as:
I am especially interested in work that bridges disciplines. I believe writing can do more than inform or entertain—it can invite reflection, expand empathy, and help us imagine better ways of living together.

A book centered on the idea that music belongs to everyone. This project reflects my philosophy of inclusive music-making and challenges the idea that mastery must come before participation, expression, or belonging. It is rooted in the belief that access is not an extra feature of education or art—it is the foundation.
Work in progress
A creative novel structured through musical movements, exploring what it means to exist within systems while longing for connection, identity, and authenticity. Through recurring motifs, shifting textures, and a narrative shaped like a composition, this project reflects the tension between structure and humanity.
At its core, The Sound of Belonging asks a central question:
What happens when a person begins to hear themselves outside the system they were designed to fit within?
Currently in the publication process, will be available this summer
A dystopian fiction project that explores power, identity, performance, and humanity within a controlled and hierarchical world. This work reflects another side of my writing life—one shaped by atmosphere, symbolism, and the emotional tension between order and freedom.
I write because some ideas need more room than conversation allows. Writing gives me a way to reflect, question, imagine, and build. It helps me bring together the different parts of my life—music, teaching, leadership, creativity, philosophy, and lived experience—into something I can offer others.
At the heart of my writing is a simple belief: people deserve to be seen not only for what they can produce, but for who they are. Whether I am writing about education, music, disability, or fictional worlds, I return again and again to questions of humanity, access, and meaning.
